In 1999, The Miami New Times published a three-part series called "Pain & Gain." The story revolved around a gang of local bodybuilders with a penchant for steroids, strippers, and quick cash. They later became known as Miami's Sun Gym gang and quickly developed a taste for blood and money.
An original song, released March 1, 2013 on iTunes and CDBaby, was written and performed by Ed Du Bois, III as an homage to his client and Sun Gym Gang victim, Marc Schiller.
Song Review from the Miami New Times:
"Almost four minutes long, the ditty called "Pain & Gain — Retribution Song" isn't just any attempt at a Hollywood tie-in. The piece was composed by Ed DuBois, the private investigator who broke the case and who is played onscreen by actor Ed Harris. "I had a lot of fun writing this song," says DuBois, who pens his own music as a hobby. "It came out pretty damn good." Click here to read more song reviews.
